Session recordings and notarization records are retained for the period required by applicable state law. Other personal data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including secure online platforms, encrypted communications, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Terms of Service
Effective Date: April 5, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the services offered by Remote Notary Connect. By scheduling an appointment or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Services Provided
Remote Notary Connect provides remote online notary (RON) services performed by a commissioned Notary Public and Certified Remote Online Notary. Our services are limited to verifying identities and witnessing signatures. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or interpretation of document contents.
2. Eligibility
Be at least 18 years of age
Have a valid, government-issued photo ID
Have access to a device with a browser, camera, and audio/video capability
Be located in a jurisdiction that accepts remote online notarizations
3. Appointment Scheduling & Deposit
A deposit of $25.00 is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This deposit will be applied toward the total cost of the service upon completion. Your appointment is not confirmed until the deposit is received. Please review our Cancellation & Refund Policy for details.
4. Identity Verification
You are required to present a valid, government-issued photo ID during your session. Remote Notary Connect reserves the right to refuse service if identity cannot be adequately verified or if there is any suspicion of fraud or misrepresentation.
5. Signer Responsibilities
You are signing the document willingly and without duress
The information you provide is true and accurate
You understand the general nature of the document being notarized
You are legally competent to sign the document
6. Disclaimer of Legal Advice
Remote Notary Connect is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing in our communications or services constitutes legal counsel. You are encouraged to consult a licensed attorney for questions about the legal effect of any document.
7. Limitation of Liability
Remote Notary Connect's liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific notarial act in question. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our services.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of Illinois.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Effective Date: April 5, 2026
At Remote Notary Connect, we understand that plans can change. This policy outlines the guidelines for appointment deposits, cancellations, no-shows, and refunds.
1. Appointment Deposit
When scheduling your notary appointment, a deposit of $25.00 is required to secure your desired time slot. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your notary service upon completion. The appointment will be confirmed once the deposit is received.
2. Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, we kindly ask that you notify Remote Notary Connect at least 24 hours in advance. You may contact us by:

3. No-Shows & Late Cancellations
A "no-show" occurs when the signer fails to appear without prior notice, or cancels with less than 24 hours' notice. In these cases:
The appointment deposit will be forfeited for the first occurrence of a no-show or late cancellation.
A reminder will be sent along with an opportunity to reschedule.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can happen and aim to handle each situation with care.
4. Refund Eligibility
All services rendered by Remote Notary Connect are non-refundable once completed. This includes notarizations or notarial acts that have been executed and finalized. Refunds will only be considered for payments made in advance for services not yet provided.
5. Refundable Circumstances
Appointment Cancellation: If at least 24 hours' notice is given, any advance payment — excluding the non-refundable deposit — will be eligible for a refund.
Service Unavailability: If Remote Notary Connect is unable to complete the service due to an issue on our end, a full refund will be issued including the deposit.
6. Refund Requests
Refund requests must be submitted via email to scheduling@remotenotaryconnect.com within three (3) days of the original payment date. Please include your name, appointment date, and reason for the request. Refunds will be issued using the original payment method.

How It Works
Accepted Forms of Identification
For your online notarization session, you must present one of the following valid, unexpired government-issued photo IDs. The identification must include both a photograph and signature.
Valid Driver's License or Non-Driver Identification Card Issued by a U.S. State, Territory, or Jurisdiction
U.S. Passport
Foreign Passport
All identification must be current and unexpired at the time of your notarization session.
